E. D. \u201cBuddy\u201d David, Esq.<\/strong>, is the managing partner of David, Kamp & Frank, L.L.C., which he founded in 1996. Over 53 years in the practice of law, he has developed a practice of unusual depth and breadth.<\/p>

Experienced in corporate law, Attorney David has served as general counsel to numerous corporations and their top executives, and has sat on a number of Boards of Directors. He has been counsel to a myriad of successful start-up companies, for which he raised seed money and helped to structure.\u00a0 Attorney David has earned the reputation of being a sophisticated and aggressive commercial litigator.<\/p>

Providing representation for federal government contractors and well-versed in representing those who do business with the federal government, Attorney David is as experienced in government contracting as he is with the private sector. His experience ranges from the procurement process to dealing with contractual issues that arise in the implementation of contracts.<\/p>

Attorney David has also served as general counsel to a variety of public and private non-profits; managed the process of qualifying an organization as a 501(c)(3); and has dealt with governance, fundraising, and other issues unique to non-profits. He has also served as general and local counsel to a number of banking institutions. \u00a0<\/p>

Proficient in transactional practice — whether buying, selling, lending, or borrowing — Attorney David has assisted clients with structuring and implementing transactions.\u00a0 He has great expertise in employment law ranging from drafting employment manuals, to dealing with specific employee issues, lay-offs, Fair Labor Standards Act and other federal and state law compliance, and conducting arbitrations. Early in his career, he managed one of the largest class action, racial discrimination suits that had ever been brought at that time.\u00a0 Attorney David learned labor relations from both sides of the bargaining table, representing a union of 15,000 workers.\u00a0 He now exclusively represents management.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Personal injury litigation is another specialty of Attorney David\u2019s practice. He has prosecuted a wide variety of personal injury cases, ranging from wrongful death, products liability, and complex injury cases to more routine automobile accident cases.<\/p>

Throughout his career, Attorney David has gained appellate experience having handled appeals in the United States Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Virginia.\u00a0<\/p>

Conducting sophisticated estate planning\/estate administration in his practice, Attorney David\u2019s emphasis is on asset protection and planning through trusts, including multi-generational planning, in addition to the reduction of estate tax liability.<\/p>

Attorney David is a native of Newport News, Virginia having graduated from Newport News High School in 1961. He graduated with high honors from the University of Virginia in 1965 with a major in political science. While enrolled, he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, and in 1966 he went on to earn a Master\u2019s degree in government. He is a 1969 graduate of the University of Virginia Law School. In 1984, Attorney David was nominated to become a United States District Court Judge.\u00a0 He is a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference.<\/p>

Attorney David is a servant of his community. He is a member of the Hampton University Board of Trustees, where he serves as the Finance Committee chair; president of the Endowment of the United Jewish Community of the Virginia Peninsula, Inc.; secretary-treasurer of the Achievable Dream Endowment, Inc.; and former advisor to Leapfrog Investments, an impact investment fund investing in businesses in emerging Asian and African markets. He has also served as president of the Christopher Newport University Educational Foundation; president of the Christopher Newport University Real Estate Foundation; and president of Rodef Sholom Temple. Attorney David was the recipient of the Hampton University President’s Citizenship Award in 2011 and the National Conference for Community and Justice Humanitarian Award in 2003.\u00a0 He and his wife Elizabeth (\u201cLibby\u201d) have been married for 57 years and they have three sons and six grandchildren.
