The Journal of Business and Finance Research is a refereed academic journal of the business disciplines. The Journal targets the broad area of research work in the field of management, finance, accounting and other business related fields. The first issue of the Journal was published in the Spring of 2009.
The primary, but not exclusive, audience of this journal would be academicians, graduate students, industry managers and others who are interested in business research. The main criterion for publication in The Journal of Business and Finance Research is the significance of the contribution an article would make to the literature, business practices, or discipline related pedagogy.
The Journal has ISSSN registration #19419392. It is listed on Cabell’s International.
Call for Papers
The Hampton University’s School of Business is calling for research papers for “The Journal of Business and Finance Research (JBFR).” The Journal of Business and Finance Research is a refereed academic journal of business disciplines. The Journal targets the broad area of research in the fields of management, finance, accounting and other business related fields. The first issue of the Journal was published in the spring, of 2009. It is registered with the ISSN granting Library of Congress. The Journal is being considered for inclusion in the Cabell’s Directory of Publishing Opportunities, since fall of 2009.
The editorial mission of this journal is to publish empirical and theoretical manuscripts which advance the disciplines related to major business fields including management, accounting, marketing, economics, finance and other related disciplines. Priority is given to papers that will make a contribution to a board based audience, both in academic circles and the corporate, firm or agency arenas. All submitted articles will have to satisfy a double blind refereed review process. The acceptance rate for manuscripts is projected at about 25 to 30 percent of papers submitted at this time. We expect this percentage to decline over time with a goal of reaching approximately 10 percent. All papers will be initially reviewed by the Journal’s Associate Editors for compatibility. If approved for resubmission, authors may officially submit documents for publication. A check for $35.00 made to Editor, The Journal of Business and Finance should accompany each submission. We strive for a quick review process of approximately three months. Once all refereed comments are received and reviewed and revisions (if any) made, you will be informed about our publication decision.
Submissions to the JBFR are made via email at sid.credle@hamptonu.edu. When submitting paper via email, please indicate in the subject line “IBFR Submission.” A tracking number will be sent to you after initial processing. There is a 25-page limit on Journal articles, and files should not exceed 2 MB in size in Microsoft Word. We ask you to prepare manuscript in single space with one inch borders. Use a Times Romans 11 point font and do not indent new paragraphs. Skip one line with each new paragraph. Abstracts of 250 words or less should begin the document. A cover page with all participating faculty, and the lead faculty member should be attached along with biographical data. No mention of faculty names should be included in the body of the paper. Formulas, tables and figures should be centered and descriptive titles should indicate clearly in the materials presented on a standalone basis. References should not have hanging paragraphs.
Once a paper is accepted for publication, additional formatting may be made by the editorial staff. Once accepted for publication a fee of $100.00 is required. Please review the articles abstracts of this publication.
