Rashida J. Stevens serves as the Associate General Counsel for Hampton University, bringing a unique blend of legal acumen and financial expertise to her role. Her diverse background in law and accounting equips her to address complex challenges in higher education administration.

Atty. Stevens earned her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law. She also holds two degrees in accounting and was a Certified Public Accountant specializing in tax accounting for 3 years prior to pursuing her legal career.

Prior to joining Hampton University, Atty. Stevens built a distinguished career in law, specializing in employee benefits and executive compensation. Her experience spans advising multinational corporations on legal, tax, and securities considerations related to equity compensation, conducting due diligence for corporate transactions, and counseling on various employee benefit and executive compensation arrangements.

As a proud alumna of two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Atty. Stevens is deeply committed to their mission and success because of the significant role HBCUs have played in shaping her educational and life journey. Atty. Stevens is an HBCU enthusiast and always strives to be a strong advocate for these essential institutions of higher learning.
