We may have to wait for your official&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/englishtest.duolingo.com\/applicants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Duolingo English Test<\/a>, TOEFL, IELTS, or other required test scores to arrive. If you are admitted, it will take a few days or weeks for your I-20 Form to reach you by mail. A decision letter will be emailed once the review process has been completed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Test of English as a Foreign Language<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students whose native language is not English must demonstrate that their English language skills are sufficient for them to undertake advanced academic work in an English-speaking institution. To show English proficiency, an applicant must provide scores for the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/englishtest.duolingo.com\/applicants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Duolingo English Test<\/a>, TOEFL, or IELTS. Hampton University requires the following minimum test scores:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/englishtest.duolingo.com\/applicants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Duolingo English Test<\/a>&nbsp;&lt; 120; TOEFL iBT &nbsp;&lt; 87; TOEFL PBT &lt; 525; TOEFL CBT &lt; 194; &nbsp;IELTS Academic &lt; 6.5; MCAT Verbal &lt; 6.5 &amp; N on essay; DAT Reading Comprehension &lt; 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waivers for English Language Proficiency<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Graduate College will waive the English language proficiency exam requirement for applicants who hold a conferred bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited university where English is the medium of instruction. Applicants may request a waiver in the application process. Evidence that a student will have sufficient funds available for the first academic year must be provided to issue this form. Typically, these funds come from a teaching or research assistantship, a scholarship, or personal\/family sources. A completed and properly <strong>notarized Financial Affidavit<\/strong> must be provided to the Graduate College by the individual providing the support.
