The Hampton University Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders is seeking a Coordinator of Community Outreach who will work collaboratively with the department chair and graduate coordinator. This person will design, implement, organize, coordinate, and analyze programmatic, and student outcome components of the academic programs in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders. The Coordinator of Community Outreach reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders.
*This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon the continuation of related grant funding.
Job Duties:
- Engage in recruitment effort
- Develop and disseminate surveys.
- Produce and present survey reports.
- Disseminate results to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with day-to-day communications for current and prospective students.
- Assist with grant management
- Lead alumni relation efforts
- Assist with donor engagement
- Compile reports and other documents as needed.
- Assist with maintaining records for events and externships
- Assist with special programs/events in the department of communication as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair
- Assist with the management of graduate assistants and tutors
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Possess the ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
- Possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to set and adjust priorities.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Follow and exercise discretion as it applies to FERPA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience applying academic or administrative procedures in a university/college setting
- Experience supporting students, faculty, and staff
- Knowledge of operations e.g. Banner
- Knowledge of Graduate admissions systems and processes such as CSDCAS
