HU Online Program Director – Education Programs

The HU Online Program Director for Education Programs provides operational management and support for the seamless operations of undergraduate and graduate programs for the Department of Education.  The Program Director collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver impactful programs, track performance, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor program performance, including enrollment, retention, and learner satisfaction, and use data to drive continuous improvement
  • Manages enrollment management for HU Online by keeping an accurate count of all students in the Department of Education undergraduate and graduate programs including:
    • Maintaining accurate lists of application submissions, completed applications, and inquiry generated by potential students considering applying to the program
    • Coordination of recruitment and retention efforts
    • Contact all students who have not registered for the required courses per term and keep accurate details as to why that student has not registered
    • Ensure that appropriate action is taken when students do not register for the required classes per term, including solving any issues causing students a delay in registering
    • Alert the Chair of Education, or appropriate faculty member, of student concerns including advisement, academic issues, and problems
    •  Communicate between HU Online, Department of Education, and Graduate School when appropriate, and matters concerning academic issues
  • Oversee the progress of enrolled students and communicate with students about progress, manage communications between the departments and students, both new and continuing
  • Create and oversee audits each semester as graduate students prepare for comprehensive examinations and candidacy
  • Review and edit the graduate handbooks and other graduate forms and materials, securing appropriate approvals
  • Collaborate with the Department Chair and the HU Online Director to monitor accurate and appropriate management of data and maintenance of student records and program documents
  • Collaborates on the implementation of mentorship and professional development programs
  • Assists in monitoring completion of all procedures for graduation
  • Collaborate with IT and instructional design teams to implement and optimize learning management systems and technologies
  • Monitor and dedicate time to answer and respond to calls and emails within a 24-hour period relative to admissions and retention issues
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • An earned Ph.D. from an accredited university in Education or Educational Leadership
  • A minimum of three years in Higher Education
  • Previous experience as a teacher or educator, to include classroom management, curriculum development, and instructional strategies
  • Skills in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs to achieve institutional goals
  • Ability to analyze data and use insights to improve educational programs and outcomes
  • Familiarity with educational laws, standards, and regulations relevant to the region or country
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders, staff, and the community
  • Canvas or experience working with other learning management systems
