Job description:
An assistant professor in the mathematics department teaches undergraduate and graduate mathematics and statistics courses. This role involves preparing and delivering lectures, conducting and publishing research, advising students, holding office hours, participating in academic committees, and fulfilling other obligations as outlined in the university faculty handbook.
Job Duties:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics or statistics.
- Conduct and publish original research in high-impact journals.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and career goals.
- Serve on departmental, school, and university committees.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members on research projects.
- Secure research grants and funding.
- Contribute to the mathematics community through conferences and outreach.
Qualifications:
- An earned doctoral degree in Mathematics or Statistics.
- Proven track record of research and scholarly publications.
- Strong teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding.
