Cancer Research Center"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Promote&nbsp;and facilitate&nbsp;cutting-edge research, including collaborative and interdisciplinary research, in areas related to the strategic goals of the University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generate funding through federal and non-federal sources in the cancer field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work closely with the Vice President for Research to&nbsp;become internationally recognized for cutting edge clinical- translational research of cancers that disproportionately affect ethnically diverse and underserved populations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in the selection of the other members of the HUCRC research team to recruit individuals with complementary expertise who will be able to accelerate research progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where applicable, develop mutually beneficial connections with institutions of higher education, corporations, government agencies, industry and the community to develop partnerships and collaborative research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build and provide&nbsp;sufficient support for a community of innovative researchers to enhance research capacity at the university and to increase internal and external research opportunities for faculty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Successful track record&nbsp;of research, scholarly, and\/or creative achievement in the field on cancer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Successful track record of academic leadership and&nbsp;team building.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong Interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to travel 25% of the year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A doctoral degree in molecular biology, biotechnology or a related field is required with demonstrable evidence of a
