{"id":2909,"date":"2024-03-13T16:25:06","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T16:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/home.hamptonu.edu\/hr\/?p=2909"},"modified":"2024-06-03T15:03:48","modified_gmt":"2024-06-03T15:03:48","slug":"assistant-director-for-compliance-athletics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/home.hamptonu.edu\/hr\/2024\/03\/13\/assistant-director-for-compliance-athletics\/","title":{"rendered":"Assistant Director for Compliance- Athletics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Assistant Director of Compliance is responsible for assisting with the implementation and management of a comprehensive athletics compliance program including enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable NCAA, Colonial Athletic Association and Hampton University rules and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Essential Functions and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit institutional request list (IRL) to the NCAA Eligibility Center.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the NCAA Eligibility Center for certification reports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit official certification forms to the conference office for required sports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work with the certification analyst, financial aid to complete and submit squad lists to Conference office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet with teams to discuss rules education and to complete NCAA required forms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>File student-athlete eligibility forms before the first day of completion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>File international student-athlete forms and student-athlete historical questionnaires.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor official and unofficial visits, playing and practice season activities and countable athletic related activities for each sport.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct rules education with coaches, athletics staff, students, and donors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with the special assistance fund\/student-athlete opportunity fund distribution and reporting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor temporary certification periods of entering first-year students, recruiting logs and telephone logs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with monitoring weekly participation rosters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with documenting and monitoring sexual assault and violence attestations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with updating and maintaining institutional compliance websites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend NCAA compliance regional seminars and CAA compliance workshops.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with official\/unofficial visits, complimentary tickets assignment and distribution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Monitor team and individual award limits, monitor coaches&#8217; camps and clinics, monitor complimentary admissions, monitor awards (Permissible and non-permissible awards), and monitor benefits and promotions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other Functions and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contribute to a positive and productive work environment and maintain respectful professional working relationships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attends and actively engages in staff meetings, training, professional development experiences, and opportunities, as budget allows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complies with all NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic knowledge of the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and\/or database management programs).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some nights and weekends may be required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The ideal candidate will possess the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Knowledge of NCAA rules &amp; regulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of NCAA Compliance Assistant and LSDBI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of ARMS Compliance software<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of Banner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with commercial compliance tracking software<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must possess strong communications skills, both oral and written<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to maintain positive relationships constituencies to provide excellent customer service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications<\/strong>: Typically requires a bachelor\u2019s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience of NCAA compliance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
