The Assistant Director for Housing Operations will operate under the guidance of the Director of Residence Life and Housing. This full-time position will play a key role in managing and administering the HamptonU Housing Portal, overseeing billing processes, and addressing all matters related to residence hall maintenance.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/b><\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Oversees modifications to the HamptonU housing software system, including conducting testing of innovations and upgrades, analyzing data, and designing and implementing comprehensive reporting functions for StarRez, encompassing housing applications, license agreements, and room assignments.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Provides guidance and supervision to departmental staff on software usage, troubleshooting, system modifications, and process management.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Plans, prepares, and allocates fees, waivers, charges, and billing for meal plans and other components of student accounts.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Assists in managing all maintenance issues in residence halls, overseeing repair requests and renovation projects. Collaborates with university staff on maintenance repairs and provides leadership within the Office of Residence Life & Housing for both staff and residents.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Develops and oversees a comprehensive communication plan for University Housing, utilizing the University Housing website and social media as effective marketing tools to attract and engage students and enhance the university’s image.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Reviews, recommends, and evaluates policies, procedures, programs, and manuals to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and workflow.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Participates in the selection, training, and supervision of Residence Hall Directors, Graduate Assistants, and Resident Assistants.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Supervises a full-time Administrative Assistant and student staff.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Coordinate and develop partnerships with local apartment complexes.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Demonstrates strong organizational, project management, and time management abilities.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Bachelor\u2019s degree required. Previous professional experience in a residential type housing office, highly desirable.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products including MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, StarRez, Maxient and Banner software.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Must have effective communication and organizational skills.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Be flexible and work well either alone or as part of a team.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Be high energy and have a commitment to accomplishment.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
