{"id":3532,"date":"2024-08-12T19:05:38","date_gmt":"2024-08-12T19:05:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/home.hamptonu.edu\/hr\/?p=3532"},"modified":"2024-10-04T17:45:19","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T17:45:19","slug":"communicative-sciences-and-disorders-clinic-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/home.hamptonu.edu\/hr\/2024\/08\/12\/communicative-sciences-and-disorders-clinic-director\/","title":{"rendered":"Communicative Sciences and Disorders &#8211; Clinic Director"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hampton University Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders invites applications for a 12-month clinic director for the Hampton University Speech language and Hearing Clinic (HULHC), at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Founded in 1868, Hampton University is a leading historically black university (HBCU) located on the Virginia Peninsula in the City of Hampton.\u00a0 It is a privately endowed, co-educational, nonsectarian institution.\u00a0 The Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders, housed in the School of Science offers the Bachelor\u2019 degree in communicative sciences and disorders and a Master\u2019s degree in speech-language pathology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This 12-month non-tenure-track faculty position requires providing oversight of daily operation and maintenance of the HUSLUC, clinical instruction to graduate and undergraduate students, teaching didactic courses, and academic advisement Participation in interdisciplinary activities with other clinical\u00a0programs. Commitment to student development and mentorship is required. Service to the university, profession, and community is expected. Collaborating with other clinical faculty to provide outreach to the community and participation in research and other scholarly activities is strongly encouraged. Possesses strong organizational skills, with the ability to set and adjust priorities. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Follow and exercise discretion as it applies to FERPA and HIPAA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Preferred <\/em>doctoral degree in speech-language pathology, communication sciences, communication disorders, or a related field. Five years or more of university teaching and clinical experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Required: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eligibility for Virginia licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or Audiologist<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.&nbsp; Applicants should submit a Hampton University Application for Employment for faculty, a letter outlining the candidate&#8217;s commitment to teaching, professional and scholarly work; a curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation on company letterhead.
