Harvey Library invites applications for the position of &nbsp;(Librarian) Coordinator-Instructional Resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mission of the University Libraries which include the William R. and Norma B. Harvey Library, the architecture department library, and the music department library, is to support the instructional, research, and service needs of the Hampton University community. This is achieved through access and delivery of information services and resources that are essential to academic and teaching excellence, leadership, and lifelong learning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop, implement, and assess instructional programs and services tailored to diverse patron needs, including workshops, information literacy sessions, and guided research support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervise assigned librarians, staff and student workers.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with faculty, educators, and community partners to integrate library resources and services into curricula and educational activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and deliver instructional materials, including presentations, handouts, and online tutorials, to enhance information literacy and research skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead professional development sessions and training for library staff on instructional techniques, reference services, and emerging library technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stay current with trends and best practices in library instruction, reference services, and information literacy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve as subject liaison to assigned areas by participating in the selection, evaluation, and management of library resources and collections to support instructional and reference needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide outstanding customer service by addressing patron inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive and supportive library experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in library committees, working groups, and meetings as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other duties as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An ALA-accredited Master\u2019s degree in library science (MLS) or equivalent is <strong>required <\/strong>for this position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two or more years\u2019 experience in instructional and reference services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two or more years\u2019 supervisory experience preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong knowledge of research methods and information resources in various disciplines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in teaching or conducting workshops is preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position&nbsp;is filled.&nbsp; Applicants should submit a <strong>Hampton University Application for Employment for faculty, <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/home.hamptonu.edu\/hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2023\/11\/Faculty-App.pdf\"><strong>https:\/\/home.hamptonu.edu\/hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/75\/2023\/11\/Faculty-App.pdf<\/strong><\/a><strong>, &nbsp;a cover letter; and curriculum vitae<\/strong>.&nbsp; Applications may be submitted electronically to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:tina.rollins@hamptonu.edu\">tina.rollins@hamptonu.edu<\/a>.&nbsp; <strong>Please include the subject line:&nbsp; Coordinator- Instructional Resources Application Package.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Hampton University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Description The Hampton University William R. and Norma B.
