Direct report to the Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon the continuation of related grant funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain Records and Database.&nbsp; Oversee records related to artwork, artifacts and the archives and history of the collection.&nbsp; Create and manage digital catalogs and data bases to track the status of the item.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acquisition and Cataloging:&nbsp; Assist in acquiring new items for the museum\u2019s collection and cataloging existing ones.&nbsp; This involves documenting details, verifying provenance, and ensuring accurate records.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reports and Presentations. Prepare reports as requested by the Director or Curator of Collections to inform decision making and to educate staff and visitors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proficiency with Windows based software including: Word, Access, Excel, Photoshop and Publisher.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2+ years of museum related experience in registration or collections management position with an emphasis in permanent collections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working knowledge of professional museum standards, including: legal and ethical best practices in collections management; registration procedures for acquisitions, deaccessions and loans; fine arts insurance, risk management, documentation, art handling, and packing and shipping art; laws pertaining to NAGPRA and others related to repatriation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working knowledge of collections management system database, preferably PASTPERFECT software.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in art history, museum studies or related discipline OR 4 years of related experience.
