This role involves direct patient interaction, assisting healthcare providers with medical procedures, administering medications, managing medical records, and supporting clinic operations such as scheduling, insurance verification, and supply management. The LPN\/Medical Assistant plays a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and patient-centered environment within the Wellness Clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a grant-funded position.&nbsp; Continuation of the position is contingent upon the continuation of related grant funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Monitor patient\u2019s vitals, ht\/wt, other demographical data, and record them in their file<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Maintain the cleanliness and comfort of each patient, including bathing, feeding and dressing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Assist nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks, such as administering medication<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Update patient records in a confidential manner<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Evaluate the patient\u2019s wellbeing, reporting any needs to medical staff<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Explain treatments and procedures to patients and families<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Change dressings and bandages, ensuring patients are healing properly<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Other duties assigned by the Dean<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current Virginia licensure or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in an outpatient or medical office setting preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Strong clinical skills in patient care, medication administration, and basic lab procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Knowledge of HIPAA, infection control, and clinic safety standards required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7 Experience with insurance verification and billing preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) \/ Medical Assistant at Hampton University Wellness Clinic is responsible for providing high-quality clinical support and administrative assistance to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
