This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to serve a diverse campus population by delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for <strong>acute illnesses and minor health concerns<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a grant-funded position.&nbsp; Continuation of the position is contingent upon the continuation of related grant funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care for acute illnesses, injuries, and episodic health issues to university students, faculty, and staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage common medical conditions within the scope of practice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Utilize a holistic, patient-centered approach to care that includes education, prevention, and wellness strategies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prescribe medications and therapies consistent with state and federal guidelines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain accurate, confidential electronic medical records in compliance with HIPAA and institutional policies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with the Wellness Center team including physicians, counselors, and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in campus-wide health initiatives, wellness programs, and student engagement events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uphold the values of Hampton University and contribute to an inclusive, supportive care environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All other duties as assigned by the Dean<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Education:<\/strong> Master\u2019s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Licensure:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current, <strong>unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the Commonwealth of Virginia<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Autonomous Practice Designation<\/strong> approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing (required).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Experience:<\/strong> Minimum of <strong>five (5) years of clinical practice<\/strong> as a Family Nurse Practitioner\/PMHNP, with demonstrated expertise in managing acute mental and primary care needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Certifications:<\/strong> Current certification as an FNP and PMHNP through AANP or ANCC; BLS\/CPR certification required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cultural competence and commitment<\/strong> to applying the skills of diversity, equity, and inclusion in each patient-family encounter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exhibit passion<\/strong> for infusing wellness, education, and preventive care in an integrative care practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mission-Driven Work: <\/strong>Be a part of a community that values whole-person wellness and student success.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supportive Environment:<\/strong> Collaborate with professionals passionate about health equity and integrative care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Professional Growth: <\/strong>Opportunity for achieving continuing education, campus involvement, and leadership in health initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hampton University, a dynamic historically Black university known for excellence in education and community engagement, invites qualified candidates to apply for a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner &amp; PMHNP position at the Integrative Wellness Center.
