The University is \u201cdedicated to the promotion of learning, building of character and preparation of promising students for positions of leadership and service.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>TITLE OF FACULTY POSITION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assistant Professor\/Associate Professor\/Instructor of Nursing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nursing Specialties: Foundations\/Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Critical Care, Community, Psychiatric, Leadership, and Management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hampton University School of Nursing and Health Science seeks an applicant for a 9-month, full-time faculty position in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, available in the Fall Semester, August 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin immediately. Position will remain open until filled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job description and duties: &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Perform faculty responsibilities within the School of Nursing, Department of Undergraduate Nursing Education at Hampton University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Support program expansion efforts in the School of Nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Teach assigned courses in a manner that promotes academic excellence and student engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Provide instruction in areas of professional and clinical expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Evaluate student learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Serve as a professional role model to students and peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Represent the University positively and professionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Assist in maintaining records and documentation pertinent to the School of Nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Uphold confidentiality regarding faculty, staff, and students in compliance with federal laws and university policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Participate in the development, evaluation, and revision of policies and procedures within the School of Nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Attend School of Nursing and university functions, meetings, and assigned committee activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Maintain regular office hours and demonstrate reliable attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Advise and mentor students during office hours and as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Engaging in activities that promote the School of Nursing, which may occur during evenings, weekends, or off-site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Exhibit flexibility, collaboration, and a supportive attitude in all college and university-related activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Actively recruit students to programs within the School of Nursing and the School of Health Sciences Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Serve as a liaison between the school and other university departments, as well as local, state, and national agencies and organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Ensure compliance with university, state, SACSCOC, AACN, NLN, CCNE, and other regulatory or accreditation bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Serve on college, University, or state-level committees or boards as appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Represent the School and University professionally at local, state, and national academic and professional forums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Use a variety of evidence-based and appropriate teaching methods tailored to student needs and learning objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Participate in the periodic review, development, and revision of course materials and reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Maintain professional competence through ongoing development, including pedagogy, research, grant writing, publications, and presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022Demonstrate a working knowledge of and commitment to the mission, goals, and values of the School of Nursing and the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications: &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Master of Science degree in Nursing is required; a Doctorate is preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, 3-5 years of nursing educator experience in a university, hospital, or professional practices department preferred. <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unencumbered licensure status as an RN in the state of Virginia or one of the Compact States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certified (CPR) &nbsp;<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How To Apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
