It is a privately endowed, co-educational, nonsectarian institution. The Department of Management provides studies in broad-based management education, allowing flexibility in varied management level careers. Students understanding of management as both an art and science, together with managerial skills essential for positions of leadership is developed. The management major promotes a generalist interdisciplinary approach that prepares students to work in any business organization.<br><br><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><br><br>The faculty member will be responsible for the following duties:<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teach undergraduate Management and Management Information Systems courses<ul><li>Provide instruction based on course description, and outlines, and course schedules<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Provide and maintain a learning environment that emphasizes, encourages sound discussions and critical thinking<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Discuss current topics (e.g. Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, System Analysis &amp; Design)<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Maintain academic standards and professional ethics<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Evaluate students\u2019 academic progress and grade students\u2019 work<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Meet regularly with students and facilitate the learning process as needed<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Maintain accurate academic records<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Align courses with industry certifications<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Provide academic advisement<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Chairperson or Dean.<br><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A doctoral degree in&nbsp;Management Information Systems&nbsp;or related field&nbsp;with at least 18 graduate credit hours.&nbsp;ABD candidates who will not hold their&nbsp;doctorate degree by&nbsp;August 2026 may&nbsp;not be considered&nbsp;at this time.&nbsp;Candidates&nbsp;with&nbsp;Masters&nbsp;degrees and 18 credit hours in&nbsp;the&nbsp;respective fields will be considered with prior teaching and\/or professional experience.&nbsp;&nbsp;Candidates must be available to work&nbsp;<em>in person<\/em>&nbsp;at our main campus location in&nbsp;Hampton&nbsp;VA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Review of applications will begin&nbsp;immediately&nbsp;and will continue until the position is filled.
