We seek a dynamic educator committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and supporting students from diverse backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The successful candidate will be expected to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teach undergraduate lecture and\/or laboratory courses in Introductory Biology, Microbiology, and\/or Anatomy and Physiology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare course materials, deliver instruction, and assess student learning in alignment with departmental expectations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Employ effective, student-centered, and inclusive teaching practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support student success through timely communication, availability to students, and professional engagement with the department<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain accurate course records and submit grades in accordance with university deadlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in Biology or a closely related field, <strong>or<\/strong> a master\u2019s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Biology or the relevant teaching discipline<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preferred:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>PhD in Biology or a closely related field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prior college-level teaching experience in Introductory Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, or related areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evidence of student-centered and inclusive teaching practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience teaching students from underrepresented groups in STEM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested applicants must complete the Hampton University application and submit all required application materials electronically, including the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cover letter addressing teaching interests and qualifications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Curriculum vitae<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teaching statement or teaching philosophy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unofficial graduate transcripts\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact information for professional references<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Application materials may be submitted electronically to&nbsp;the Interim Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences at <a href=\"mailto:Shawn.Dash@Hamptonu.edu\">Shawn.Dash@Hamptonu.edu<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Position Summary The Department of Biological Sciences at Hampton University invites applications for an Adjunct Professor Pool to teach Microbiology, Anatomy &amp; Physiology, or Introductory Biology, beginning August 2026.
