Community Psychology & Self-Care Research Lab for an evening of learning and empowerment featuring Dr. Hareder McDowell— Community Psychologist, TED Speaker, and author of “Black Women, Sex, and Lies Our Mothers Told Us” (2nd Edition)!

Through intergenerational dialogue and reflection, this program will explore how communication, culture, and self-awareness support emotional wellness and healthy relationships.

Highlights include:

About Dr. McDowell:

Dr. Hareder McDowell (Dr. Mac)—renowned speaker, author, sexual comprehension coach for youth, and advocate for Black women’s inclusion in sexual health research.

Dr. Mac is known for her dynamic storytelling, authenticity, and ability to create healing spaces that blend truth-telling with humor and wisdom. She recently delivered a highly acclaimed TEDx Chicago Talk.
