The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Management<\/strong> and the M.A. in Administration and Supervision<\/strong> programs are offered online through HamptonU Global, the Graduate College, and the Department of Education within the School of Liberal Arts and Education. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)<\/strong> and approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV)<\/strong>, the program is designed to develop advanced leadership skills for professionals working in today\u2019s complex, diverse, and information-driven educational environments. Structured as an executive-format program, it allows candidates to pursue doctoral study without interrupting their careers. Preferred applicants will have five or more years of professional experience in an educational setting, with demonstrated leadership experience receiving the strongest consideration. For those pursuing the PK\u201312 concentration, teacher or administrator licensure or other educational certification is preferred. Applicants interested in the higher education concentration should have leadership experience in postsecondary education institutions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Hampton University offers the following programs that are fully approved by the State Council of Higher Education and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). These programs are also fully accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation CAEP).<\/p>\n

All programs listed below are housed within the Department of Education in the School of Liberal Arts and Education.<\/p>\n

The programs include:<\/p>\n

BA Elementary Education; MT Instrumental Music; MT Vocal Music; MT Mathematics; MT Biology; MT English; MT Chemistry; MA Administration and Supervision<\/p>\n

Licensure Disclosure: All Hampton University Department of Education programs meet the requirements for state licensure. Completion of these programs meets licensure or certification requirements for the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), and all states and territories that have an agreement of reciprocity.<\/p>\n

Virginia participates in the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC). The NASDTEC Interstate Agreement facilitates the mobility of educators among the states and jurisdictions that are members of NASDTEC and have signed the Agreement. There are eight states which have full reciprocity that allow a teacher licensed in Virginia to become licensed in that state without any further requirements. Those states and territories with full reciprocity for Virginia include Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, and Wyoming. All other states and jurisdictions that participate in the NASDTEC Interstate Agreement may choose to have additional requirements for out-of-state educators. These additional requirements vary upon the educator’s years of experience, endorsements, or certifications.
