data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Mr. Xorlali Plange is a costume designer, fashion scholar, and educator whose work spans theatre, opera, dance, film, and fashion. He has designed over 30 productions in Ghana and the United States. His theatre designs include\u00a0<em>Queen<\/em>\u00a0(African Grove Theatre, 2025),\u00a0<em>The House That Will Not Stand<\/em>\u00a0(Walker Theatre, 2024),\u00a0<em>Atobra<\/em>\u00a0(ETS Drama Studio, 2021) among others.\u00a0His work extends to dance\u2014<em>Broken Walls<\/em>(Tisch Dance, 2023),\u00a0<em>When Women Move\u00a0<\/em>(Alliance Fran\u00e7aise, 2022), and\u00a0<em>Aya<\/em>\u00a0(National Theatre of Ghana, 2019)\u2014as well as opera;\u00a0<em>Visions in Drag\u00a0<\/em>(African Grove Theatre, Woodlawn Operas, 2025)\u00a0<em>Aging Gracefully, It\u2019s Noon, and Windy<\/em>\u00a0(American Opera Lab, 2024). His film credits include The Wrath of Othell-yo (TriBeCa Film Festival) and Untouched.<\/p>\n<p>As a scholar, Plange researches African material culture, global Black women\u2019s sartorial practices, and the intersections of adornment with economics, technology, and labor history. He has presented internationally, curated exhibitions, and premiered a documentary on Ghanaian wax prints.
