Science and Wellness at Hampton University. She holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Exercise Science and a Master\u2019s degree in Human Movement Sciences from Virginia Commonwealth University, and she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education at Old Dominion University. This academic background provides a robust foundation in exercise science and student-centered educational practices.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to her appointment at Hampton University, Professor Privett was a research assistant for the T.E.E.N.S. Program, a comprehensive weight management initiative for obese adolescents in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, she conducted exercise testing to assess maximal oxygen consumption and body composition. Her work contributed to evidence-based interventions to improve adolescent health outcomes. This experience strengthened her applied approach to research and kinesiology education.<\/p>\n<p>At Hampton University, Professor Privett emphasizes holistic student development. Her educational philosophy centers on promoting self-efficacy and resilience, supporting students as they navigate academic and personal challenges. She is committed to fostering student confidence and developing the skills necessary for sustained success in health and human performance fields.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Privett\u2019s research addresses student success at Hampton University, proactive academic advising, and program evaluation. Her scholarship reflects a commitment to improving educational outcomes through data-driven strategies and targeted student support.<\/p>\n<p>Her areas of expertise include exercise physiology, exercise testing, and academic advising.
