The file name is: annmarie_koptzike\" style=\"width:201px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. AnnMarie Kopitzke an Associate Professor at Hampton University, in the School of Nursing \u2013 Health Sciences, and collaborative research focuses on chronic diseases and aging health issues. Dr. Kopitzke has a broad background in health services research, with specific emphasis on the access to care and treatment options, given financial constraints. She has worked on diverse grants that include: childhood immunizations, cultural competency, nurse practitioners and the elderly, medication management; domestic abuse (heterosexual\/same sex partners), teen obesity, and neighborhood satisfaction. In addition, collaboration with other researchers produced several peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Dr. Kopitzke has familiarity with all phases of research: 1) designing research studies; 2) conducting; 3) supervising and 4) research support (survey administration, data collection &amp; entry; database management; as well as statistical analysis using SPSS\/SAS).Dr. Kopitzke has taught Health Services Research to emerging undergraduate scholars with classes of 30+ students per semester).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Kopitzke\u2019s work with Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia (SSEVA), allowed her to assist older adults with managing their chronic illnesses (such as diabetes mellitus) with increased access to their prescribed medications.&nbsp;Dr. Kopitzke teaches the gerontology courses, as well as those focused on health education and health promotion (HSC 307: Health Promotion &amp; HSC 318: Community\/Population Health utilizing health theory and evidence-based practices. Recent research includes presentations in Dubai, UAE for the Second World Heart Congress a collaboration with Virginia State University faculty entitled, <em>Meta-Analysis: Improving Cardiovascular Health with Increases in Vitamin K<sub>2 <\/sub><\/em>(Fall 2023) , as well as research collaboration with Hampton University School of Nursing faculty which was presented in London, United Kingdom entitled <em>Meta-Analysis of Birthing <\/em>Options at the International Conference on Nursing, Midwifery and Women\u2019s Health (Summer 2024).&nbsp; Dr. Kopitzke\u2019s research collaboration on aging populations entitled <em>Meta-Analysis of Holistic Healthy Aging Practices and Interventions<\/em> was presented (Spring 2024) at the 45<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Meeting and Conference of the Southern Gerontologicial Society\u2019s: A Balanced Approach: Seeking Evidence-based Holistic Strategies to Promote Healthy Aging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Kopitzke taught SOSC\/NS 260: Introduction to Public Health: Addressing Health Disparities and Social Changes (Summer 2024) in Rome, Italy for John Cabot University as a visiting professor. Dr. Kopitzke\u2019s diverse background in business, public administration and health services research allow her to approach collaborative research from a holistic position of disease management and health promotion. Recent research interests include simulation with standardized patients to address aging health issues and collaborations with examine healthy brain health throughout the aging process.
