However, they pose new risks to the safety of riders and pedestrians. Outlined below are some rules and guidelines for students and faculty when it comes to these methods of transportation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-35905f4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"35905f4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Guidelines<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1b440df elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1b440df\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Per University Policy and <a href=\"https:\/\/law.lis.virginia.gov\/vacode\/title46.2\/chapter8\/section46.2-908.1\/\">Virginia Law,<\/a> electric scooters and golf carts are classified as vehicles and must abide by all traffic laws including :<\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Operators must ride as close as safely possible to the right curb or edge of the roadway except when:<br \/><\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a01. Overtaking and passing a vehicle in the same direction<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02.
