Once the award\u00a0is received from Sponsored Programs the\u00a0Office of Grants Management reviews the budget and provides\u00a0award documentation to the Grants and Contracts unit of the Business Office. The Grants Management Office is responsible for\u00a0monitoring\u00a0all expenditures from grants and contracts and ensuring the appropriate expenditure\u00a0of public and private funds received for research and sponsored programs.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Both Sponsored Programs and Grants Management work closely with the Business Office in the administration of grants and contracts, and all externally funded research projects.\u00a0\u00a0The Office of Grants Management monitors\u00a0each award to ensure expense allowability\u00a0and funding availability. To accomplish\u00a0this,\u00a0all payment\u00a0vehicles (requisitions, contracts, vouchers,\u00a0etc.) on externally funded projects are routed through the Grants Management Coordinator for approval.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Primary Purpose:\u00a0 Monitors allowableness of grant expenditures and rate of spending<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Establishes Banner accounts, in coordination with the Business Office<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensures that expenditures adhere to university and funder guidelines<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Monitors the PI\u2019s rate of spending<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Oversees submission of effort certifications<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Adhere to all university policies and procedures; local, state,\u00a0and federal laws and regulations<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Grants Management Office&#8217;s mission\u00a0is to assist\u00a0faculty and staff members to ensure appropriate expenditures\u00a0post-award.
