President's Letter<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\"\"Hampton University is pleased to share its 2023\u20132033 strategic plan \u2014 \u201cElevating Hampton Excellence.\u201d This living document is the culmination of a focused, deliberate, and transparent effort to engage the stakeholders of the Hampton community, which commenced August 2022. Grounded in contemporary higher-education research, this plan represents a boldly ambitious, student-centric, culturally relevant, data-driven, and measurable prioritization of the work Hampton University will undertake over the next 10 years.<\/p>

Since taking office in July 2022, the administrative has worked to identify the priority projects of the next decade. Goals 1.5, 1.6, and 1.7 of this plan delineate the goal to expand enrollment. Goal 2 elaborates upon the aim to achieve R1 Carnegie Commission on Higher Education classification by 2033, which will include the establishment of a state-of-the art Technology Park as delineated in Goal 2.1. Goal 4 confirms the aim to grow the endowment to $1 Billion.\u00a0<\/p>

Additionally, our strategies include four enhanced academic units: a School of Religion; a newly-named School of Engineering, Architecture & Aviation; School of Leadership Studies; and a College of Health Sciences and Research, which will include the School of Pharmacy and School of Nursing. Further, Strategy 2.6 outlines the intention to establish a global PK-12 laboratory school that will award the International Baccalaureate diploma and undergird existing academic initiatives in language acquisition and enhancement of Black male achievement.<\/p>

Founded as an industrial and agricultural institute and remaining true to the mission of service, Hampton \u2014 over the next 10 years \u2014 will expand its workforce priorities as outlined in Strategy 1.2. Competitive by nature, replete with pride, and bonded through team spirit, the strategic plan concludes with Strategy 6, maintaining a championship athletic program.<\/p>

As implementation of \u201cElevating Hampton Excellence\u201d begins, its aims, efforts, and realizations will become apparent. Thank you for your support of this vitally important strategic undertaking.<\/p>
