How do I reset my email password with Password Manager? (Tutorial Video Link)
Step 1: Contact Academic Technology Mall (ATM) Helpdesk (757)-728-6931
Step 2: Inform the helpdesk that you are apart of the VWIEC program
Step 3: After the ATM successfully changes your password, register your account with the Hampton University Password Manager
Step 4: Ensure that you are able to unlock and reset your own password
Where can I get a W-9 form?
Step 1: Go to www.irs.gov
Step 2: In the blue menu bar, click “Forms & Instructions”
Step 3: In the dropdown menu, click “Form W-9”
Step 4: Under “Current Revision”, click “Form W-9”
How do I upload my homework/forms to the course? (Tutorial Video Link)
Step 1: Go to VWIEC page and login
Step 2: Under My Course Enrollments, go to desired course
Step 3: Then click “Upload files”
Step 4: Click Upload Files
Step 5: Locate and select the file you would like to upload.
Do I have to take the courses in order?
No, classes do not have to be taken in order, but certain courses must be completed in order to become eligible for the stipend
How do I get my results from Cisco? (Tutorial Video Link)
Step 1: Log into your VWIEC Community (www.vwiec.org) to access the Entrepreneurship (CISCO) course and register using your Hampton University email
Step 2: Please be sure to use the download/Adobe support link in your email to access this course
Step 3: Once you complete each module and each quiz, under the “Course Home” tab, all 7 Modules and quizzes should have a red checkmark
Step 4: Scroll to the bottom of the “Entrepreneurship Post-Course Survey” section and click “End of Course Feedback”. Doing this will take you to another page.
Step 5: Click on “Take Assessment”
Step 6: On the next page, click “Begin Assessment” and it will ask for your feedback
Step 7: Head back to the “Course Home” page and scroll down to the bottom and the status under “Course Completion” and click on the link “How to Get Your Certificate of Completion”
Step 8: Log into Cisco NetSpace (be sure to use VWIEC email)
Step 9: Click your name in the top right bar to access your user profile
Step 10: Scroll down to the “Certificates of Completion” section and click the “Get Certificate” button to generate your certificate
How do I get my results from VitaNavis (Tutorial video link)
Step 1: Log into www.vitanavis.com
Step 2: Please be sure to complete all sections of the assessment through the “Student Impact Survey” section to have a “complete” status
Step 3: If you’ve already completed the assessment, locate the “Results” section at the top left corner of the page, under “Go to Profile”
Step 4: Click “View Results”
Step 5: On the next page, click “Print” and save as a PDF on your computer
How can I find out how many classes that I have completed (How do I login to community)? (Tutorial Video Link)
Step 1: Go to VWIEC Community site, www.vwiec.org, and click “Login” at the top right corner
Step 2: Log into VWIEC Community
Username/Email: firstname.lastname.vwiec@hamptonu.edu (Please note that your first name and/or last name may have been shortened to accommodate the character limit)
Password: Your current VWIEC Community password (if you don’t know your current password click “Forgot your password?” to reset)
Step 3: Click “My Course Enrollments” located at the top of the screen.
What is an IBPP?
An IBPP is your individual business pathway plan. This plan discusses the participant’s short-term and long-term goals building a pathway to business ownership for the individual.
How can I find out who my advisor is?
Ms. Brandy or the advisor themselves will contact you when your advisor has been assigned to you.
When is orientation?
We hold orientation once a month, during the third week of the month. We offer a morning, afternoon, and evening session. The link for the orientation session is in your welcome email.
How long are classes?
Zoom classes will take 1-2 hours with the exception of VitaNavis and the Business Essentials Entrepreneurship Certificate (BEEC).
How do I login to VitaNavis? (Tutorial Video Link)
For VitaNavis login information, please see the “Continuing your VWIEC journey” email, sent after you’ve attended orientation.
Will classes be held in-person?
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, classes are virtual
When do I get my stipend?
There is a one pager that is sent out that lists each stipend and the requirements for each (Insert link where list can be found).
How can I find the courses I completed?
Step 1: Login into VWIEC.org
Step 2: Click My Course Enrollment
Step 3: After completion of a course, it will display “Complete” in the “Status” column
How do I turn in my W-9 form?
Email your W-9 Form to Ms. Brandy at (Brandy.lowery@hamptonu.edu) or dropped off at 2 Eaton Street Suite 1100, Hampton, VA 233669
Which cohort am I in?
Your cohort number and start date can be found in the welcome email.
Can my business partner and I both participate in the program?
Yes, technically you can, however only one person is eligible for stipend per business name. The person who signs up first is the one who gets the stipend.
How do I get the Zoom link for my classes? (Tutorial video link)
Step 1: Go to VWIEC community page, click my courses, click on the course, the click on zoom link, then you will receive a zoom link VWIEC email
Step 2: Click “My Course Enrollments” and click on the name of your desired course
Step 3: Click the link under “Description”, this will take you to a website to register for the Zoom
Step 4: Once you register for the Zoom, you will receive a confirmation email from Zoom that contains the link to join the meeting
Do I have to be a Virginia resident?
To be eligible for this program, participants must be at least 18 years old and a Virginia resident, have been impacted by COVID or a student, faculty or staff at a school in Virginia (students, faculty and staff of Hampton University are not eligible for compensation).
How old do you have to be to participate in this program?
To be eligible for the VWIEC you have to be 18 years or older
How can I find out what my Student ID number is?
You do NOT have a student ID number. Student IDs are only for students.
How long will it take to receive my stipend?
It can take approximately 2-4 weeks.
How often should I meet with my advisor?
It is recommended that you meet with your advisor at least biweekly to ensure that your IBPP is complete
How do I apply for the program? (Tutorial video link)
Step 1: Got to vwiec.org
Step 2: Click the “application” button found near the top of the screen.
If I miss a class, how do I make it up?
Classes are offered multiple times throughout a cohort. If a class is missed, it will be made available again.
If I am unable to log into my Zoom class who do I need to contact?
Step 1: First, ensure that you are using Google Chrome and connected to strong WIFI.
Step 2: Email your advisor informing them you were unable to get into the course
How do I set up my VWIEC email? (Tutorial video link)
Step 1: Go to https://outlook.com/owa/hamptonu.edu
Step 2: In step 2 of your welcome email, insert the username and password provided
Step 3: After logging in, immediately change your password by clicking “Options” in the top right of the outlook email page.
Step 4: Then underneath it select “Change Password”
Step 5: After changing your password, ensure your new password works by signing out of your email and logging back in
How long does it take for my courses to show completed?
1-2 weeks after you complete the course
If I am locked out of my VWIEC Community login how do I reset my account?
Lock outs from the VWIEC community are temporary. If you receive a message stating that you’re locked out, please wait 15 minutes and then attempt to login again.
How do I reset my password for the VWIEC Community?
Go to the login screen and click “Forgot your password?”. When asked for your username, it will be you full HU VWIEC email address. Afterwards, a password reset link will be sent to you HU VWIEC email inbox.
