Update: May 12- 4:30 pm – Daktronics regional manager called to to report they were going to dispatch a tech to the site Saturday morning. Tech will call Vince’s cellphone who will meet him on premises. Techs will attempt to connect to device and use laptop to diagnose and repair. visit is scheduled for between 9am and 10am Saturday Morning
Update: May 12- 3 pm – Daktronics regional manager called to further discuss / research the issue and indicates that he is reviewing the case and will call us back within the hour to with some proposed solutions. He tentatively feels they will be able to find a resolution by Saturday AM. No technician available tonight.
Update: May 12- 12 pm – Daktronics indicates they have dispatched a 2nd technician to examine the Marquee on-site . CIT is awaiting arrival of the technician to evaluate what is necessary to restore functionality. CIT has requested replacement hardware until a repair can be completed. Escalated current status to Director of Media Productions.
Update: May 12- 9 am – The Daktronics service team accessed the new board and ran an update that “bricked” the new unit (caused the device to become unusable). Daktronics has escalated the issue to an Higher Level Tech Response team. They are aware of the upcoming Commencement Event and our requirements to have the board operational. The have indicated they will respond to us shortly with additional options.
Thursday May 11th – CIT spent the day working with the Vendor – Daktronics to replace the Marquee circuit board. After attempting an update The vendor indicated they could not restore service without sending the internal board for repair and a new board was required. We provided a new backup unit to the Service tech for use, however, the service tech was unable to setup the device. After the technician departed, Web team continued working on the board internally and was able to get the system ready for configuration. The Web Team is now working with Vendor on the Board to attempt getting the replacement board configured. We hope to have a resolution by noon Fri May 12th.
