Arriving by Car: Where to Park on Campus

If you plan to drive to campus, here’s how to make the trip smooth.

Getting to Campus

  • Take I-64 to Exit 267 (Hampton University/Settlers Landing).
  • Enter campus at Emancipation Drive and William R. Harvey Way, the main campus entrance.
  • Turn east onto Emancipation Drive and follow the orange signs.

Where to Park

Parking attendants will be posted before each lot entrance. They will tell you which lot is open so you can get in the correct lane early.

  • Lot 11: Next to the Convocation Center
  • Lot 10: Along Emancipation Drive

When a Lot Fills Up

When a lot is full, signs will change to LOT FULL: CONTINUE TO NEXT LOT. Follow the signs and the attendants. If all campus lots are full, staff will send you to a remote shuttle hub. Each shuttle has plenty of seats and frequent rides.

⚠️Important: No Parking at the VA Medical Center Clear

The VA Medical Center on Emancipation Drive is open 24 hours a day, and patients and emergency vehicles need access at all times. Do not park, stop or drop off guests on VA property or VA access roads. Only properly credentialed vehicles will be allowed on VA property.  Your cooperation helps protect the veterans who rely on these routes.
