FTDHC Programs

The A+ Program is a transformative summer program designed for teens seeking personal growth and skill development founded by our beloved Dr. Freddye T. Davy. This enriching experience empowers participants to explore their identities in relation to the world around them while acquiring practical skills to thrive academically and beyond.

Throughout the program, teens will engage in thought-provoking discussions, interactive workshops, and hands-on activities aimed at fostering self-awareness and resilience. From communication skills to time management techniques, the A+ Program equips teens with the tools they need to succeed in school and navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

Be a part of a summer of discovery and skill-building with the A+ Program.

The teaching and learning approach at the Freddye T. Davy Honors College is characterized by a student-centered, hands-on pedagogy that emphasizes constructivist and metacognitive principles. Students are encouraged to engage deeply with their studies, think critically, and solve problems purposefully. Through voracious reading, creative thinking, thorough note-taking, incisive analysis, fearless sharing, and gracious interaction, students develop their academic voices. They participate actively in rigorous dialogue and communal sharing to foster serious academic inquiry.
