Nu Voices at Hampton Late Night Preaching Event
The Late-Night Preaching Event, or Preaching in the Round, at the Hampton University Ministers Conference is a vibrant and spiritually enriching gathering designed to offer a platform for emerging seminary-trained clergy to share the preached Word with passion, purpose, and prophetic insight. Held in a sacred, yet informal evening atmosphere, this event provides a space where fresh voices can be heard, spiritual gifts can be nurtured, and diverse audiences can be inspired and challenged through dynamic preaching.
This unique forum is especially crafted to serve as a formative opportunity for clergy who have been theologically trained but may not yet have consistent access to preaching engagements. By offering a supportive and engaged audience, the Late-Night Preaching Event allows these rising preachers to gain invaluable experience in real-time proclamation, sharpen their homiletical skills, and develop confidence in their ministerial voice. It is both a proving ground and a sacred classroom where practice meets purpose. We seek to introduce and develop compelling preaching from compelling preacher!
Rooted in a tradition of late-night revivals and communal worship experiences, this event fosters an atmosphere of encouragement, constructive feedback, and communal celebration. It aims to cultivate theological depth, promote intergenerational mentorship, and uplift the next generation of faith leaders as they proclaim the gospel with boldness, creativity, and authenticity. More than just a preaching moment, it is a spiritual formation experience—for the preacher and the people alike.
