IMPROVE OPERATIONS AND ENHANCE INFRASTRUCTURE
INTRODUCTION
As a historic institution with a globally recognized profile, Hampton University embraces its sacred duty to protect, preserve and enhance the whole of its natural and manmade physical environment. From studying, monitoring, and responding to “climate change” issues as they relate to the very shoreline of this institution, which rests on the Chesapeake Bay Peninsula, to honoring and preserving Hampton University’s very own national landmarks such as Emancipation Oak, Hampton University is committed to protecting and cherishing its idyllic and culturally rich natural environment. As a forward-looking institution that concurrently uses extraordinary, manmade physical structures as the literal platforms from which to “send through centuries ringing” students who embrace a “great spirit” of service, Hampton University is dedicated to ongoing study and enhancement of its physical environment with a view always to providing state-of-art classrooms and buildings — all as critical components of providing the #1 Student Experience in America.
