Office of Off-Campus Housing

The Office of Off-Campus is designed to service and assist all students, faculty and staff in their off campus housing needs. The Off-Campus Housing Office serves only as an information referral service and cannot be responsible for lease arrangements. Services provided are free for all students, faculty and staff.

Intake Form
The intake form will better assist in forming your individualized housing list. This compiled list will include properties, such as condos, townhouses, houses and rooms, which are owned and managed by individuals within our surrounding communities. All properties listed are inspected and approved by our office, except for apartment complexes; providentially, they have their own inspection process.

Off-Campus Housing Fair
The Office of Off Campus Housing at Hampton University hosts an annual housing fair that is designed to provide students, faculty, staff and the community an opportunity to network and connect for housing needs and other resources.

The Off Campus Housing Fair has passed, but check back with us later about our next event!

Apartments
The apartment quick guide list can be requested via email between 8am and 4pm. Hampton Harbor Apartments are directly adjacent to the campus, and can be reached via email or by calling 757-723-0559. Other apartment listings located in the cities of Hampton and Newport News can be found through the Apartment List, the Apartment Guide, and Rent.com. When it’s time to sign a lease, the student, her or his parents, guardians, or other responsible party must read over the application and sign as the responsible party. Persons from North Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, and Florida are not allowed to co-sign in the state of Virginia. This is a reciprocal law.

Update Address
Students must provide the Office of Off-Campus Housing with an updated address within one week of signing a lease agreement. Students must also notify the Office of the Registrar with their current local address.
