How to Become a Hampton University Advocate
Steps to amplify Hampton's voice:
Step 1: Start an Inquiry
Start a Hampton University Advocacy Inquiry Form. This form allows you to share your interests and how you'd like to help.
Step 2: Define Your Advocacy Interests
On the form, select the areas where you're interested in advocating:
- Within Your Social and Fraternal Organizations: Educate members, organize "Hampton Days," or feature Hampton in communications.
- Leverage Your Church and Faith-Based Communities: Share Hampton's story, promote scholarships, or host University representatives.
- Engage with Conventions and Conferences: Represent Hampton, network on its behalf, or propose Hampton-focused sessions.
- Connect with Legislators and Policy Makers: Share personal stories, stay informed on key issues, or respond to calls to action.
- Amplify Through Your Personal Network: Share by word of mouth, promote on social media, recruit prospective students, or introduce potential partners.
Step 3: Provide Details on Your Influence
Describe specific organizations, churches, or communities where you have an influence. If applicable, mention any legislators or policymakers you have connections with.
Step 4: Indicate Support Needed
Let the Office of Advancement know what information or support would be most helpful for your advocacy efforts, such as talking points, fact sheets, or guidance on contacting officials.
Step 5: Submit the Form
After acknowledging your understanding, submit the form
Step 6: Collaborate with Advancement
A representative from the Office of University Advancement will review your submission and contact you to discuss ways you can collaborate to amplify Hampton's voice.
