Assistant Professor of Data Analytics/Supply Chain/Business Administration
Job description:
The Hampton University Department of Business Administration invites nominations and applications for Assistant Professor of Data Analytics/Supply Chain/Business Administration beginning Spring 2024.
Founded in 1868, Hampton University is a leading historically black university (HBCU) located on the Virginia Peninsula in the City of Hampton. It is a privately endowed, co-educational, nonsectarian institution. The five-year MBA program includes 157 academic hours of coursework with an imbedded undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Bachelor of Science). Competencies in the five-year MBA are achieved through an interdisciplinary approach. This approach includes liberal education curriculum; broad accounting, technology and engineering-based business background; interpersonal skills; and structured and varied work experiences through internship. Hampton University 2018-2020 School of Business 61 Professional application and refinement activities are required to ensure business sophistication and the internalization of professional and critical thinking skills as well as to build strong moral character. Job Duties:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate supply chain, data analytics and other business administration courses.
- Provide instruction based on course description, and outlines, meet classes as scheduled and maintain accurate academic records.
- Assess student performance and remain current with content, technology, teaching and learning strategies in the discipline.
- Collaborate with colleagues to review and revise curriculum, course development, teaching materials and teaching methods to promote student success and lifelong learning.
- Provide service to the University and attend meetings/events as required by the University, the School, and the Department.
- Serve and function as an academic advisor.
- Work closely with the School Dean to create a space for collaboration with local and national entities to support the program goals and engage in fundraising.
- Maintain academic standards and professional ethics.
- Identify and implement recruitment strategies to increase enrollment in the department.
- Demonstrate the capacity of high-quality research and grant writing.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair of Business Administration and Dean of the School of Business.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with experience and knowledge in supply chain, operations management business, data analytics and/or related areas. The Ph.D. in Business Administration/Management/ Supply chain/Data Analytics or a related field is required for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor. In some cases, exceptionally well-qualified candidates may be considered for appointment at a higher rank.
