IT Security Manager_ Center for Information Technology

The Center for Information Technology has an immediate opening for a full-time position of IT Security Manager to develop appropriate security policies and manage the technical aspects of security. The successful candidate would also be the principal staff for our managed security services while coordinating with internal staff to mitigate risks and strengthen the security blanket over our assets.

Job Duties:

  • Monitor all operations and infrastructure. Reviewing alerts and logs for malicious signatures.
  • Maintain all security tools and technology. This is a shared responsibility with others, especially the managed security service provider.
  • Monitor internal and external policy compliance. Ensure that vendors and employees understand our cybersecurity risk management policies and that they operate within that framework.
  • Monitor regulation compliance. Ensure compliance with PCI, DSS, HIPAA, PII, regulations.
  • Work with departments in the organization to reduce risk. From technical controls to policies, work across the aisle to get everyone on the same page.
  • Implement new technology. Ability to evaluate new technology and help implement any controls that might mitigate the risk of its deployment.
  • Audit policies and controls continuously. As a manager, you must regularly audit the policies and controls that are implemented with the view of improving, remediating, or fixing them quickly.
  • Detail out the security incident response program.
  • Other activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in information security.
  • Experience with incident response, risk assessment, and management.
  • Strong understanding of security trends and technologies.
