Health Mobile Bus Driver (Part time)- Vice President for Research

Hampton University Community Engagement Project is currently seeking an experienced and qualified part-time Bus Driver for the Hampton University’s Health Mobile.

*This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon the continuation of related grant funding.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and safely drive Hampton University Health Mobile unit (up to 41 feet)
  • Inspect the Health Mobile: prior and post trips
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of mobile unit, e.g. oil changes, fuel check, fluid checks etc. and maintain event equipment (tables, awnings, banners, televisions)
  • Maintain all DOT and vehicle logs as required by law and all University documents.
  • Actively document and report any malfunctions/accidents on an as needed basis.
  • Perform related work as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be able to physically lift 20lbs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Good Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Two or more years of verifiable experience driving vehicle with a gross weight of 23,000 lbs. or more (such as a bus, RV, or delivery vehicle)
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Must have a CDL license with air brake endorsement.
