The Department of English and Foreign Languages at Hampton University, which houses the BA in English, with concentrations in Creative Writing; Film Studies, and Arts as well as a 5th year Master in Teaching, is seeking to fill one faculty position at the Associate or Assistant professor level beginning Fall 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be committed to:
- teaching undergraduate courses such as Written Communication I & II, Written Communication Honors, Traditional Grammar, Advanced Writing Theory and Practice, and Intro to Linguistics
- contributing to the scholarly advancement of the department, the School of Liberal Arts and Education, and the University through a productive research agenda that includes grantsmanship as well as service activities;
- advising majors in English and Foreign Languages;
- holding regular office hours per the expectations of the School of Liberal Arts and Education
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have:
- an earned doctorate in Rhetoric & Composition, Linguistics, or related field from an accredited university
- experience in and evidence of successful teaching in a university setting
- demonstrated experience in research and grantsmanship (preferred)
