Hampton University is seeking an administrative assistant who will assist the office of the Department of Education with various administrative and clerical support tasks.
Job Duties:
· Maintains the Chair’s calendar of meetings, presentations, and deadlines.
· Performs all clerical tasks, including typing, copying, retrieving, sorting and sending mail.
· Assists in the preparation of meetings and events including school and committee meetings organized by the Department of Education.
· Manages front desk operations (including answering the telephone and greeting visitors at the reception area).
· Provides information and referrals.
· Prepares presentation materials including power point presentations and handouts.
· Collects and disseminates department-related information.
· Interfaces with repair personnel, vendors, delivery personnel, and equipment-service providers.
· Compose emails and brief memos using appropriate grammar
· Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
Qualifications:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Strong communication skills.
· The ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
· Demonstrated initiative and sense of ownership for projects.
Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
