Graduate Online Admissions Specialist- HU Online

The Graduate Admission’s Specialist position receives and manages admissions application and contact information from prospective graduate students and ensures quality and accuracy of data management to support the admissions and enrollment process. This position will report to the Executive Director of Hampton University Online.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain and update student records and databases using Banner, Canvas, Degree Works, Recruit CRM, Slate CRM, and the Veteran Affairs portal.
  • Work closely with graduate advisors, directors, program coordinators, and other staff regarding applicant’s admission status.
  • Use various technology and systems, ensuring accuracy, and efficiency to process applications and Veterans Affairs claims.
  • Maintain and track students’ progress throughout the application and registration process.
  • Process Veteran Affairs claims for graduate and undergraduate veterans and their dependents.
  • Participate in outreach and recruiting events and programs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of admissions policies, procedures, and enrollment management operations.
  • Advise prospective students on the requirements demonstrated technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • Working knowledge of computer data entry; proven ability to learn quickly, work efficiently, and accurately under set deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in projects that support the enrollment goals of the college; initiative, sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in performing duties are required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, administrators, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports; excellent written and oral communication skills; and a demonstrated proficiency with using computer, email, and imaging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s  degree required
  • Prior experience 3-5 year in higher education
