Assistant Director- Auxiliary Enterprises

This position reports to the Director of Auxiliary Services. Coordinates and implements the special interest of the Auxiliary Service Units to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency by providing managerial support to Auxiliary operations (Mail Room Services, Trucking Services, Special Events, Catering, Auxiliary Warehouse, Regalia, Trustee House, ABC licensing, Vending, Washer and Dryers, Residence Halls Furniture and Extermination, Campus Bookstore (Contracted to Follett), and Dining Services (Contracted to Thompson Hospitality)). The Assistant Director will support University faculty, staff and students while developing policies and procedures to establish and maintain compliance.

Job Duties:

  • Develops overall business strategies for the self-sustaining, revenue -generating auxiliary enterprises and activities that ensures financial stability
  • Seeks opportunities for future initiatives and revenue development consistent with university needs
  • Oversee the financial and personnel functions of the assigned Auxiliary Services units
  • Office Management and staff supervision
  • Coordinate training efforts for the division; assess opportunities and disseminate information; direct special projects as assigned
  • Serve on division and university committees, as directed
  • Manages and participates in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting maintenance and repair of applicable technologies and associated equipment
  • Inventory management principles and practices
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirements on a year-to-year basis
  • Proficient computer skills including word, excel, outlook, and banner
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to efficiently perform a variety of tasks under pressure of time and client demands while maintaining a professional and personable manner.

Requirements: 

  • Must have an outstanding work ethic and possess the ability to interface well with all levels of personnel and management
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment and be available for some evening and weekend events
