Graduate Admissions Coordinator- Graduate College

The Graduate Admissions Coordinator receives, processes, and manages admission applications for all main campus graduate programs. In addition, the Graduate Admissions Coordinator addresses all inquiries from prospective M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. applicants and ensures quality and accuracy of data management to support the admissions and enrollment process. The Admissions Coordinator reports directly to the Dean of the Graduate College. This position has a start date of January 3, 2025.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain and update newly admitted student records using SLATE CRM, BANNER and ARGOS Web Viewer data management system.
  • Maintain and track applicants’ progress throughout the application process to matriculation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to prospective students through effective outreach and follow-up.
  • Possess complete knowledge of FERPA requirements.
  • Meet and communicate regularly with prospective graduate students and visitors.
  • Maintain daily communication with Graduate Program Coordinators.
  • Work closely with the Dean of the Graduate College to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Interact with students, administration, faculty, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Directly train and supervise Graduate College staff assigned to the admissions area.
  • Represent the College of Graduate Studies at graduate fairs, conferences and other recruitment events both locally and nationally.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of enrollment, communication, recruitment, and retention strategy.
  • Facilitate presentations, trainings, or other workshops for prospective students or current faculty and staff related to graduate admissions.
  • Serve as liaison between applicants and graduate program staff.
  • Respond to student inquiries and counsel graduate students about application and admission policies/procedures.
  • Review and evaluate applications.
  • Compile and organize data for statistical surveys and reports for the Dean of the Graduate College.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of experience in academic support roles in higher education is required. A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of admissions policies, procedures, and enrollment management operations.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in projects that support the recruitment and enrollment goals of the Graduate College and mission of the University.
  • Exceptional knowledge of computer data entry, proven ability to learn quickly, work efficiently, and accurately under set deadlines. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, assemble and organize data, prepare reports; excellent written and oral communication skills; and technical proficiency with SLATE CRM, BANNER, ARGOS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
