The Assistant Coach (Tight End Coach) is responsible to the Head Football Coach and the Director of Athletics for assisting in the management of a varsity intercollegiate sports program and team. Specific responsibilities include assisting the Head Football Coach on the offensive side of the football team.
Job Duties:
- Coach Tight Ends
- Know academic status of your position.
- Recruit assigned area.
- Implement offensive schemes that maximize the tight end’s role in the passing and running game.
- Design specific plays and routes for the tight end position to exploit matchup advantages.
- Collaborate with the offensive coordinator to integrate the tight end into the overall offensive strategy.
- Analyze opposing defenses to identify weaknesses and develop game plans to attack them.
- Prepare players for specific game situations and adjustments based on opponent tendencies.
- Provide in-game coaching and adjustments based on on-field performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience in coaching
- Knowledge of computer applications, including that for recruiting and video analysis
- Written and oral communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Leadership skills
- Ability to work weekends & evenings, and to travel
- NCAA rules and regulations.
