The William R. and Norma B. Harvey Library is seeking applicants for the position of Library Clerk. This position assists with the implementation and delivery of efficient and customer-oriented programs and services for the George Foster Peabody Special Collection.
This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon the continuation of related grant funding.
Job Duties:
The job duties of the Library Clerk are as follows:
- Provide patrons with assistance by answering questions related to the collection.
- Assist with the supervision of student workers.
- Maintain collections by shelving materials and shelf-reading.
- Compile and maintain statistics relative to collection usage and provide assistance with the preparation of departmental reports.
- Assist in collection digitization projects.
- Serve on library committees and initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one-year previous experience working in a library environment preferred.
- Knowledge of computer applications.
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
Requirements:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Willingness to engage students in the learning process.
