The Department of Sports Science and Wellness at Hampton University, which houses the BS in Kinesiology, BS in Sport Management and MS in Sport Administration is seeking to fill a faculty position at the assistant professor level beginning August 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence as a classroom teacher and program advisor and show ability to integrate technology tools in teaching and student engagement. Teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to undergraduate and graduate courses such as intro to sport management, sport marketing, sport law, sport finance, facility management, sport sociology. Additional responsibilities include intern supervision, student advisement, research, recruiting, committee work and service to the university, discipline, and community. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the department’s scholarly advancement through a productive research agenda including grantsmanship.

Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Sport Administration/ Sport Management or related field. Active membership in appropriate state and national professional societies; experience or potential in grant writing and potential for scholarly productivity required; demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and service; experience in use of technology and course management systems in course delivery. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in research and grantsmanship. Rank and compensation are commensurate with credentials and experience.
