The Hampton University Network Services team is responsible for the implementation, upgrade, and maintenance of the campus-wide network infrastructure. The Network team also ensures that HU students, faculty, staff and its authorized guests, have internet access to both the wired and wireless university networks. Whether you’re on campus full time or in town for a visit and need to jump online, we’ve got you covered.
The University offers varying method of securely connecting to the campus’ network.
There are multiple WIFI Network SSID’s that can connect you to campus Wireless. The process for connecting to each will vary depending upon the option you choose.
The purpose of this standard is to promote a secure computing environment for all students, faculty, staff and affiliates at Hampton University.
The Hampton University Center for Information Technology is currently implementing a plan to upgrade the entire Campus Network.

This form is required to apply for a VPN account to allow secure communications to the Hampton University network. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis at the time of request and renewal. By submitting this form, you are agreeing to adhere to the Center for Information Technology (CIT) Hampton University VPN acceptable use policy above. VPN access is renewed annually.

The Hampton University internal network is accessible to authorized Hampton faculty, staff and administrators from off-campus. This is achieved by using a Virtual Private Network connection, or VPN. This is a special connection that allows access to the most secure areas of the HU campus network.
