The Trucking Services Supervisor will be responsible for the daily routine of ensuring that the University’s deliveries, removals, storage, and placement of goods and services are complete. This position requires the daily supervision and overseeing of Trucking Services employees. This person is considered a working supervisor.  Applicant must be adept at providing constructive feedback, coaching, organizing workflow and ensuring employees understand duties; monitoring employee performance to ensure maximum productivity; as well as relaying information between team and upper management.

Job Duties:

The Trucking Service Supervisor is also responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Ability to complete all relevant paperwork, reports, new hire training, and continuing education, as required
  • Transmitting and explaining work orders
  • Manage/Service requests for the delivery and removal of furniture
  • Loading vehicles, abiding traffic laws, and enduring safe unloading and delivery to and from their destination without damage
  • Deliver goods from one location to another, to include on and off campus
  • Ensure that classrooms are set up properly
  • Move heavy equipment
  • Deliver student and departmental packages
  • Maintain off campus storage units
  • Collaborates effectively with managers and workers to solve work related problems
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  

  • Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills for relating to and working with the administration, faculty, staff, students, parents, vendors, and other individuals seeking assistance
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Capable of working under physically strenuous conditions (including lifting and carrying large and heavy items)

Requirements: 

  • Applicants should have a high school diploma
  • Experience/background in lifting and moving furniture
  • Excellent physical health
  • Valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record (please note that suspensions and infractions can be cause for termination)
  • At least 25 years old to meet insurance requirement.
  • Must have availability to work nights and weekends as needed
