During my time in the School of Business, I was given transformative opportunities that shaped my professional journey. I interned with PepsiCo, where I served as a Sales Manager and gained firsthand experience in Business-to-Business sales, strategic account management, and building strong customer relationships. I learned how to communicate value, negotiate effectively, analyze market performance, and drive results in a competitive environment. Additionally, through Hampton, I participated in NASA’s Technology Transfer Program for university students. That experience sparked my entrepreneurial journey. I licensed technology and launched my own tech company, HerculE-Q, focused on advancing innovative energy solutions. Since founding the company, I have raised over $100,000 in funding, secured industry and university partnerships, built multidisciplinary teams, and continued to scale impactful technology solutions.
While Hampton provided countless opportunities, its greatest impact on my life was shaping my character. Hampton taught me how to persevere and endure through difficult seasons. It showed me that life beyond the university is bigger than Greek letters, bigger than coursework, and certainly bigger than the desk we sit at. What truly matters is how you treat people and how they feel after interacting with you.
Hampton also taught me that life does not always unfold according to our plans, but we can trust God’s promise in Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” These lessons have cultivated and shaped me into a woman of deep faith and a leader grounded in resilience, compassion, and purpose.
