Maurice Kuykendoll is a global finance leader whose journey from Hampton University to executive leadership in international markets reflects the power of preparation, purpose, and possibility. As Chief Financial Officer for Japan and Emerging Markets at Prudential, he leads financial strategy across 11 countries spanning Asia, Latin America, and Africa, shaping business outcomes on a truly global scale.
Since joining Prudential in 2008, Maurice Kuykendoll has advanced through a series of influential roles, including CFO of the Group Insurance business, Global Head of Expense Management, and Chief of Staff to the Global CFO. His leadership extends beyond finance, as he has also served as national co-director of the company’s Black Leadership Forum, demonstrating a sustained commitment to equity, mentorship, and organizational impact.
A certified public accountant with an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Accounting from Hampton University, Maurice Kuykendoll credits Hampton with shaping both his professional foundation and global outlook. What began as an unexpected decision to attend Hampton became a defining turning point, opening doors he could not have imagined. From studying Japanese as a student to later living and working in Tokyo with his wife and three children, his story reflects the enduring reach of a Hampton education.
Maurice Kuykendoll remains deeply connected to the Hampton community through his service on the advisory board of the School of Business and the board of directors of the Gloucester Institute.
