Department of Management & MIS

The Department of Management & MIS prepares students to lead in a dynamic, global business environment through strong faculty engagement and practical learning. Our programs develop the critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills essential for effective management across industries.

The Management major offers a broad, interdisciplinary foundation, equipping students for diverse career paths in both private and public sectors. With flexible coursework and advising support, students can tailor their studies to align with their professional goals.

The Management Information Systems (MIS) emphasis prepares students to design, implement, and manage technology-driven solutions in modern organizations. Through coursework in areas such as artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and project management, students gain both technical expertise and strategic insight for IT-driven decision-making.

Management Minor Requirements

A minor in business management is earned upon the successful completion of 18 hours in the management discipline as follows. Non-business majors may elect to take a minor in business management to include: MGT 301, 400, 402, plus any three courses selected from the following courses: MGT 300, 305, 306, 312, 321, 330; HRM 418, 417. Business majors may not use MGT 301, 400 or 402 as part of the Minor in Management.

Management Major Requirements

Business Management majors must take MGT 300, 312, 321, 402, 499 for a total of 15 semester hours beyond the Business Core Requirements as reflected in the Curriculum Outline below.

Management Major with Management Information Systems (MIS) Emphasis

Business Management majors with an emphasis in Information Systems must take CSC 200/MIS 209; CSC 316/MIS 302; CSC 323/MIS 401; CSC 325/MIS 403; MIS 309/CIS 320 & MIS 406/CIS 410 for 18 semester hours as reflected in the Curriculum Outline below.
